Built along the Delaware riverfront around 1713. The house was once celebrated as the residence of Pennsylvania’s founder, William Penn, but was later discovered to have no connection at all. At the time of the house’s legacy, the City of Philadelphia purchased the home and relocated it to Fairmount Park in 1883.
