Carl Schmidt, a prominent architect and architectural historian in Rochester, New York who lived in the mid-twentieth century, was inspired to measure, draw and publish documentation of the beautiful Greek Revival Style houses in Western New York, many of which were based on the building manuals published by Minard LaFever.
