Constructed around 1700, this national historic landmark is among the very finest examples of eighteenth-century colonial houses. This a two and a half story wood-frame structure was expanded in 1760 by Metcalf Bowler adding to the rear a central hall and two rooms the south and shifting the orientation from Mary Street to Clarke Street.
