Round

Round

Round moulding is used to create a smooth transition between floors, walls, or countertops. It is similar in appearance to shoe moulding but has a more prominent curve. Although both round and shoe mouldings serve a similar purpose, round mouldings have a bolder appearance due to the curve and radius.

Benefits of Round Moulding

There are two types of round moulding: full-round moulding and half-round moulding. Full round moulding and trim make for phenomenal wood transitions that provide a clean design aesthetic.

It’s also more affordable and durable than other flooring transitions. Full-round moulding is very easy to install as well, making it a fantastic option for those seeking a DIY-friendly moulding option.

Half-round and quarter-round mouldings are better for finishing edges and trim. Many homeowners use half-round moulding to separate wallpaper or wall colors for a starker contrast between the two. It’s an excellent way to create a clean line between different design elements and break up a space. Quarter-round moulding is best for finishing baseboards.

Tips for Using and Installing Round Moulding

One of the best tips for incorporating this moulding is to buy slightly more than you think you need. This will ensure you don’t run out during your installation. For installation, you can use adhesive to apply round moulding as a wood transition.

You can use round moulding to hide the gaps between pieces of wood, especially in areas where your baseboard meets the floor. This added functionality, along with the aesthetic quality, makes round moulding a fantastic finishing element to your project.

Mouldings One mills high-quality wood round mouldings. We offer a variety of sizes and styles, including half round and quarter round. Browse our selection below or get a quote for your next project.
